How was BrewNuts born?

If we created nut mixes for wines last year — an idea that, fittingly, was born over two pints of beer — we thought it was only right to complete the story with mixes designed specifically to go with beer.

In the autumn of 2022, we participated in a food exhibition in Paris, where — by sheer luck — our booth was placed right next to the Hungarian craft beer stand. When we heard the distinctive hiss of a beer can opening at 10 a.m. on the first day, we already suspected that we were in for five very entertaining days. And we were right… The good vibes were guaranteed, and this is also where we got to know the beers of Fehér Nyúl in more depth.



After those five memorable days, we had to return to reality and the Christmas rush, but even then, our minds were already buzzing with ideas.

Once the holiday madness subsided, in January (which is always product development season for us), we reached out to Álmos and his team to see how they’d feel about co-developing nut mixes to pair with beers.



Our idea was met with unexpected enthusiasm and openness, so we followed the White Rabbit down the hole and began immersing ourselves in the world of craft beer.

Our workshop is stocked with all kinds of nuts, spices, and dried fruits just waiting to show off their versatility — now alongside beer, too. Álmos and his team taught us how beers can be categorized, what flavor notes are typical of each beer style, and with that in mind, we created our first round of samples — around 17 different mixes (side note: tasting this many nuts with that many beers was no easy feat, trust us). We narrowed it down to 10 in the second round of tastings, and from those, four final blends were born for four types of beer: Pilsner, IPA, fruity, and dessert beers.   

Each nut mix is delightfully spiced, slightly sweet and salty at the same time, and so tasty that we’re convinced you won’t just be enjoying them with beer. Discover them here
