Salted Crunchy Peanut Butter

The best-known and probably most popular nut butter has finally joined the Mendula family! :) And based on your feedback, you love it too – no wonder: it’s made from high-quality peanuts, it's extra creamy, and most importantly, it contains nothing but peanuts and a pinch of sea salt. No palm oil, no other vegetable fats, no sugar, no emulsifiers – absolutely nothing else!

Peanuts are often thought of only as the salty snack we nibble on while watching TV – something that should be avoided because it's fattening and unhealthy. But that’s a huge misconception! Peanuts are energy-dense and have one of the highest protein contents among nuts – 100 g contains 26 g of protein! That’s why they’re a common feature in the diets of athletes. They're also rich in B vitamins, antioxidant vitamin E, and phytosterols, which are believed to have anti-inflammatory effects.

Fun fact: more than half of the peanuts grown in the world are used to make peanut butter. Not surprisingly, as the peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a classic everyday breakfast of American kids.

Try the unflavored, additive-free peanut butter spread on good quality sourdough bread with low sugar homemade jam and you’re all set for an insanely delicious, healthy, protein-rich breakfast!

You can also put this peanut butter in a smoothie (our favorite is the banana-peanut-yoghurt/coconut milk smoothie) or top your oatmeal with a spoonful. It’s wonderful in cakes (such as brownies), but our most favorite use of it is for the Indonesian satay chicken with peanut sauce - the unforgettable main character of summer grills!
